Hi! I'm matt and I write art.
I form words into images, exploring the power of negative space and the illusion of distance.

About Me
I'm matt and I write art! I've been creating written drawings (otherwise known as calligrams) for the best part of a decade now. I got bored at uni one day, looking for a distraction to avoid exam revision, and just decided to start writing. I've always enjoyed writing by hand - writing so much relaxes me.
I decided to take my art more seriously during the Covid-19 lockdowns, which gave me the time I needed to create and experiment more, and launch this website.
Since then I've shown my art at my first exhibition and sent prints and originals all across the globe. Please have a look around and if you like what I do, get in touch!
FAQs
Do you take commissions?
Yes! I love discussing more personal, requested work. See my commissions page for more.
How much do commissions cost?
It entirely depends on the size, difficulty, and time involved. Happy to discuss on a case-by-case basis.
Do you ship anywhere in the world?
Yes! Shipping is added to the cost of the piece and discussed with you, the customer.
Do you do art in different sizes?
Yes! Most prints are A4, with a couple of A3 prints scattered throughout. My commission sizes vary - from as small as A5 to as big as A2 currently!
What materials do you use?
At the moment, mostly heavyweight Bristol paper and uni-pen fineliner (from 0.05mm to 0.8mm). Always looking to try new materials and nibs!
